So I have been shooting a lot of Mikasa flatware for packaging and advertising. Here are a couple test shots.

So if you had to guess what it would be most would think a high end digital camera of some sort. Maybe either a digital medium format or 4x5 with many many megapixels. Actually it is just the complete opposite. It is the pre-production Leica O-series. This camera was made as a test for 35mm cameras before any existed. So this is a very rare camera to own. Especially since only 12 are known to still be around. Oh what I would do to hold one of these time changing beauties just for a brief minute.

So it is about time someone made a true black and white only digital camera. No surprise Leica was the one to do it. It is a full frame 18 megapixel 35 mm digital camera. The sharpness an dynamic range are suppose to hold a major improvement over those color digital cameras of the same specs. I am shocked at the price tag on it, $7,950! So for all of you who have an iPad this may be very interesting, especially if you have the iPad 3. You can now transform your iPad so it can use SLR lenses!! It's pretty crazy, you can mount it to a tripod and take video and/or photos with high end lenses. See HERE for the full story and videos.

Photographers are constantly battling illegal use of their work. This has been a controversial issue for a long time. Whether it has been images being stolen online, publishers trying to use images free of charge, or copyright issues.

Did a shoot for Castleton Crackers on Friday. I made some new friends when we went out to the barn to take some shots. They were furry and rather cute. Many thanks to Whitney for bringing such delicious crackers and her great stylist friend Julie!! Cracker photos to come soon.

Legos used to build a camera!!!!

Ok so this extremely cool. Who would have thought you could build a camera out of legos! Photographer Carl-Frederic Salicath did. It is a twin lens reflex camera. Even the brackets and rods that make up the camera are from a lego technics kit. The images have that toy camera feel, which suits it perfectly. Click here to read the full story.

New Lomo Camera!

So for those of you who are familiar with Lomography you will love the new camera. It is called La Sardina. It is basically designed and made from a sardine can. How great you say? Of course it is. Check it out here:

Hope everyone has a terrific New Years! Hard to believe 2011 is over. I finished the year working on some new packaging images for Lifetime Brands. They own companies such as Mikasa, Kitchen Aid, Cuisinart, Towle, and many more. Here are some packaging designs with my images as well as some sample boxes with my images.
