So to continue on with a post I did a few days ago about camera phones. There are many photo apps out there for your camera as well. Some include HipstamaticCamera+, and Instagram, one of my absolute favorites. It allows you to take photos, apply a filter of your choice, and then share into a photo community. It makes me feel like I am keeping a visual journal. Which I absolutely love! Being able to apply a filter also helps to bring in some more creativity. It also makes me think about the photo I'm taking even further. A mentor of mine, Keith Jenkins, recently wrote a great article about camera phones. You can read it by clicking HERE. Enjoy these few Instagram photos as well.

Recent Work

Here are some recent product shots. Shot with room for text of course. It's always a fun challenge shooting metal flatware. The products featured include Mikasa, Towle, Pfaltzgraff, and Elements. Most of these shots will be used on packaging that you find in stores. Such as K-mart, Sam's Club, Costco, and a few others. So keep an eye out, never know when you might spot one! I also included a few images of what the packaging will look on some, some text is still missing. As you can see though they are wrap around boxes with images nice and big. What us photographers like to see!

Cell Phone Cameras

So we all have cell phones that we use to take pictures with. Some of these phones have some pretty great little cameras on them! They are fantastic for on-the-go fun photography. When taking pictures with your phone you should use and remember the general guidelines of photography like you would with your camera. It is possible to snap some amazing pictures with your phone. Some of you may even have an app that allows you to do some editing of your pics on your phone. Take advantage of this and play around. Here are some iPhone 4 pics. Taken straight off the phone, not retouched/enhanced on the computer at all. We will talk about some fun photography apps later, like instagram.

Joshua Tree

While I was out west I paid a short visit to Joshua Tree National Park. Home to thousands of those funky trees we all hear about. It was nice to witness first hand the ancient trees and desert. While driving there I passed a giant wind farm. I have never seen so many of those turbines in one place. It went on and on! I pulled over and snapped a few shots, I couldn't resist.

LA...Palm Springs...

Visiting Southern California is always fun. Went back to LA, and this time went to Palm Springs for a quick visit. Nothing better than laying by a beautiful colorful pool in the warm sun with good company. While in Palm Springs I just so happened to stumble upon a 26' tall statue of Marilyn Monroe being unveiled. It was amazing. In LA I got to get up close and personal to JAWS. And of course visit the beach. I also made a trip to Joshua Tree Park so stay tuned for those pics soon.

One very busy lil girl

Recently I went to visit a good friend of mine in Orange County California. Her daughter Elizabeth kept me very busy! Most of my time is spent shooting inanimate objects, so capturing an almost 2 year old running around was rather different. Although I must say it was loads of fun. And you may notice the fabulous camera t-shirt she is wearing in a few pics.
